Recycle Bin
Ever since I bought Win 7 my recycle bin had been full of trash that I did not put there. Is that normal and can I reduce the amount to what I put there like in XP?

Do you use any torrent, or usenet clients?
If you do the behavior is normal as they dump par and temp download files directly to the recycle bin.
I don't use torrents and I don't know what usernet is.
It will empty but it takes longer than usual. Refreshing??

What do you mean by "Trash" Can you give us a screenshot of part of the contents showing the actual files in there. Not sure waht you mean when you say "can I reduce the amount to what I put there like in XP?". If you don't delete anything then nothing will go in there. If you wish to delete files completely without going into the recycle bin then hold down shift key whilst pressing the delete key!
EDIT:
That was odd, none of the above posts were showwing when I posted. he timings were a bit tight perhaps
Do you have a program like Ccleaner set up to scan pc every so often, if so that will do it. Just an idea.
btw - my torrent client does not place anything into my bin on it's own - guess it's how you set it up.
sCREEN SHOT? I have not done that except one or two times with XP. Can't find out how. What is in there is a bunch of repetitions files from recipes to Unbutu information which I did not put there! It is loaded with these files and I did not put them there!!
Matter of fact I just emptied the bin and all this shows up. Where did it come from? I guess it is just a faulty Win 7!
"if you don' delete anything then nothing will go in there" NOT TRUE There is a lot I mean alot of repetition of files. Maybe 10 or more of each
Jim I guess no one else has had this problem?

"TIP"
when you delete a file to the recycle bin / trash on the final conformation to delete file before you click press shift on the keyboard hold down then confirm and the file bypasses the recycle bin / trash.
