Win 7 upgrade disk questions

Well starting today, (well its after midnight here, so technicially yesterday) Microsft has started a thing where you can get win7 home premium for $50 if you preorder it sometime before july 12th I think it is. But its only the upgrade disk, the full disk is like 100 if you preorder. My question is, will I be able to preform a clean install with the upgrade disk? I've heard that with vista, if you upgraded xp, you would boot into xp, then run the disk, and it would ask you if you wanted a clean install rather than just replacing the xp files. Can anyone confirm this, or even perhaps tell me if that sounds plausible to be the case with the windows 7 upgrade disk? Cuz I'd really prefer to have a clean install, but sh**, $50 is damn good. Yes you can do a clean install with the upgrade disk.

* Running Windows Vista?
* If you have Windows Vista, you can purchase Windows 7 Upgrade versions. You can do a clean install (back up your files, clean install, and reinstall your applications) or an in-place upgrade (Windows 7 installs over Windows Vista).

* Running earlier versions?
* If you have Windows XP or Windows 2000, you can purchase Windows 7 Upgrade versions. But you must back up your files, clean install, and reinstall your applications.

Thanks guys. Ima hop on that lol. The only question now is do i want home premium or professional. Im not so sure xp mode is worth being double the price. What do you guys think?

Well it depends on what all you do with your computer.

I preordered Win 7 Pro myself and I don't really have plans to use XP mode myself just good to know it's there just in case I decide to mess with it

I preordered the Home Premium as I do not need the extra stuff that comes with Pro...
