    Desktop Icons


    Some programs on my desktop like uTorrent have disapeared. i mean the label is there but the logo/icon picture is gone. it comes back randomly and then goes again. same when im in explorer.






    ive googled around, and tried deleting iconcahce>doesnt work
    ive tried right click and making sure show desktop icon is checked

    dont know what else...

    Just deleting the icon cache isn't enough you have to rebuild it afterwards.

    okay since this appears to be related specifically to utorrent and it's related files.
    Open up utorrent, and go into preferences, under general click the button that says associate torrent file, and make sure check at startup is checked.

    The utorrent icon association is supposed to be part of the application. If the above doesn't fix it, I would just redownload and install the application. It's only a 300k or so download anyhow.

    K, did wat u said to do, plus i downloaded a .ico image for utorrent, it worked. now the icons for the other programs have appeared too (visual cert) dont know how long it will last doe

    Next time you turn off your machine make sure it does a full and proper shutdown.
    (this should allow the new settings to take hold and hopefully solve your problem)
