Help, download a file to C:/ but it's not there ?!?

    Hi,
I accidentally installed Windows 7 N instead of Windows 7 regular from Technet, no biggie, so I was downloading the iso for regular Windows 7 to my C:/ in order to re-do the install.
My download manager says the file completely download to C:/, however, I go to the C drive and it's not there, but all my old files from Vista are still there instead, when I chose to do a clean/custom install... I'm very confused what went wrong, but more confused where the 3.5 GB download would be... the HD says the space has been used up, but the explorer search can't find it and I can't find it when I look in C:/

Does Windows 7 have some weird place of putting things? Is there a better search? Please help, thank you in advance :)

Well placing things in the root folder of a system drive may not be allowed (I've not tried it, I always create a /download folder for downloading things). There are several other known "redirects" this may be another one. You can try searching your personal folder under "Users", or just the entire drive to see where it went...

    Look in C:\Users\Logic\AppData\Local\VirtualStore
If it is not there, then redownload and save it to your USER'S folder.

Ok Can't try until I get home, but maybe another dumb question... In XP/Vista there was a search option in the start menu... I didn't notice on in W7, so I was just using the exploerer window search... Is there a better one or is that the only way to search files/folders now?

    Thanks
