Question: Will Home premium have Compatibilty mode?

I read this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....type=category; and on the bottom where it compares the two it says Run many existing Windows XP productivity applications in Windows 7 Is that compatibility mode, or XP mode.

No upgrade path will be offered from any Beta or the RC. You will need to do a 'Clean' Install of the RTM.

You need XP or Vista (or 2000) for the upgrade. The RC isn't one of them.

And I believe the things like Ultimate -> Ultimate only are for the free upgrade option, i.e., if you buy a Vista Ultimate computer now, you can only upgrade to Ultimate for free, etc.

They haven't indicated any such limitation for the plain ol' upgrades. Simply that you need a prior genuine version of XP or Vista (or 2000). It would appear you can upgrade to any version you want as long as you have the prior stuff somehow.
