Undeletable File
Hey all,
I recently re-installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, and after deleting the Windows.old file, I've found myself left with a small folder that will not be deleted by any means. The error message I get is:
"This is no longer located in C:\. Verify the item's location and try again."
I did some research and tried various methods: tried deleting the file from the command prompt, but that didn't work. Tried to delete it with Total Commander, but TC insisted that I remove the copy protection from the file and wouldn't proceed. Tried simply making a copy of the folder and merging the two. Nothing I've tried has worked. I'm dying to get rid of this thing. I know that these ghost files are a well documented issue with Windows 7, and I've seen many threads with similar issues. I'm hoping that if I give the details of my problem, someone will have a solution.
The file itself is called "Windows.old," but it's not the full, actual Windows.old. It's just a folder that contains a sequence of other folders inside that, when clicked, open in this order: Windows.old -> Windows.old -> Users -> Matt (that's me) -> AppData -> Roaming -> SecuROM -> UserData -> [AND HERE'S THE KICKER] - two "files" that can't be opened, denoted by a string of crazy cyrillic text. 3KB and 1KB in size.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
