Deleted Folders fail to disappear from windows explorer

Windows explorer continues to display folders that have been deleted. Cannot rename , move or do anything with them because explorer says they are no longer there. System is a HP Pavilion dv7 running Windows 7 home premium 64 bit, dual core i7 cpu and 6GB RAM and dual 500GB hard drives. ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650 video card.

Hello Bigbird, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might see if using the free program Unlocker may be able to help allow it to be deleted.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

I am not sure how unlocker works, but you are the man. The files disappeared when I used unlocker's delete option. I rebooted notebook PC and they remain gone. Thanks so much for the help. Function of PC never seemed to be affected but having deleted files randomly remain and clutter up explorer was becoming at a minimum, a huge annoyance.
