    Hello Fran,

You must not have exported the entire registry, and only exported a single key (folder) instead. My full registry REG file is 151 MB.

To export the full registry, you need to select Computer at the top, right click on it, click on Export, and save it to say your desktop.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

frantheman: how did you measure your registry size?

as shawn suggested, i exported my complete registry as a reg file, and mine seems a bit bloated at 195 megs.

(i've defaultly associated my reg files with notepad, so a quick careless double-click won't merge.)

as far as i know, the windows 7 registry is actually contained within several files stored at a few locations. adding these all up, i get maybe 70 megs, but i suppose these are compressed somehow compared to the text-based .reg export, and are hence stored more efficiently.

Actually 195 isn't all that bloated. Mine weigh's in at a whopping 321MB (My total disk usage is 123GB used (no backups included as I use Windows Home Server for that, it does include restore points however).

Just Wondering If Running Ccleaner in the Registry Was Actually Doing Any Harm to it?

When i Back mine up it is 400mb in Total Is this too large or Just due to the amount of programs i have?

I want to know if i can run The cleaner to remove unused registrys?
