Drag and Drop Problem Windows 7

I have just been using my computer and all of a sudden i noticed that i can't drag and drop anymore. I am currently running Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1. User Account Control is turned off and i have tried using another mouse and that's got the same problem.

I am only dragging and dropping from one folder to another on windows.

When i try and drag the files a black circle doesn't come up, just nothing happens.

    Hi,

I think I have seen this behaviour before when some Windows updates are pending? Do you have any outstanding updates?

    Regards,

Hi, welcome to the forums :)

If you're having folder issues try the following...

1, Open up explorer (in any folder).
2, Click Organize then Folder and Search options
3, In the View tab click Reset Folders

Now try the process again and see if it has been resolved.

Have you tried refreshing the loacation you have dropped the file? Sometimes explorer just needs to be refreshed. Click on the directory you dropped the file, and press F5. Does it show up?

Have you installed any new software shortly before the problems occurred?

1 thing you could try is to uninstall it and try the copy process again. If the problem persists then you at least know it's not the software you installed.

It's not a install, it's just a application file. I will delete all the files from it and try to drag and drop again.
