Can't start any program on Win7. Starting circle-icon appears for 2sec

Almost no program can start on Windows7 (only succeeded to run notepad and explorer but no IE, chrome, etc.) When I try to run it a spinning circle appears for a couple of seconds (the program names appears in the task manager) and then everything quits silently. no error message, no anything.

Tried numerous registry fixes (assumed wrong extension files associations) - didn't help.

    Any idea?

Hello Rytrom, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You could do a system restore (at boot if need be) using a restore point dated before this started to hopefully fix it for you.

    Hope this helps,

It appears that you may need to reinstall Windows 7. It depends on what option below you might consider if you want to save anything or not in your current installation.

If not, then you could just do a clean install with your Windows 7 installation disc.

If you do and have a retail copy of Windows 7, then you could do a custom install instead.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
