    Microsoft Wordpad Help, please

My Wordpad suddenly started opening with a page only 3" wide instead of the normal letter size. I went to page setup and found "Hagaki" or something like that as the format. I changed it to "Letter" but nothing changed. Further I have gotten an error "Word Pad has stopped working."
In my frustration I deleted the wordpad.exe file thinking a MS update would bring it back, but no such luck.

How can I get Word Pad back and make it behave properly?
I have Win 7 ult SP1 installed and I find I can't do a repair install without a Win 7 SP1 install disk, and that seems very intimidating to slip stream one from the tut in the forums.

    Hi,

Do you have any system restore points? You could try reverting back to a previous restore point if you do.

I hope you have a solution so the page displays, say 8 1/2" instead.
    Thanks!!

    Hi,

    Choose the 8 1/2" x 11" under page layout?

Try clicking on view in the top left corner & then the + sign to increase size to what you want.

Yessir I have tried resetting the option. It continues to go back to Hagaki(100X148MM) regardless of the setting I choose. this is why I got frustrated and deleted it in the first place, it drives me crazy.
    Attachment 142572
    I don;t have the "Letter(8.5X11") option.

dooley that only increases the magnification, not the true page size.

Mmmm.....lets try something : if you click the View tab, and then click Measurement Units, are yours in centimetres, or inches? I suspect inches judging from the scale on your image...

Also : do you have a printer connected to your computer?

Mmmm........see where it says Source : "Automatically select" on the layout page? I think what it is doing is reading the page size from the printer settings, although I'm not 100% sure of this......

Can you check your printer page setups, and see if that offers a clue as to what is going on?
