    Recent documents not working

    Hi all!

I have no idea what happened, but my pinned IrfanView icon in the start menu has stopped showing recent documents. The "arrow button" is still there, indicating that there should be some documents to display, but none show up. Even the pinned documents are gone. If I open new documents with the program, the list fails to repopulate.

    How can I fix this?

    Thanks! :)

    Hello Higgins,

If you had recently cleared or turned off and on your recent items, then it may take a bit after opening items before they start showing back up again in the list.

You might also check to make sure that you do not have clear recent items on exit turned on well. If you log off often, then it may never get a long enough chance to repopulate the recent items list for them before it's cleared again.

    Hope this may help,
    Shawn

I have not cleared or turned recent items off and on. Clear recent items on exit is turned off. I don't log off often. Other recent documents work as they should. It's just the IrfanView that's problematic and I've not updated it for a while (it used to work just fine).

I've had someone else report another unrelated issue with IrfanView as well. You might see if uninstalling and reinstalling it may help.

So far it seems reinstalling didn't fix it. I used Revo uninstaller to remove any leftovers from the previous installation.

Give it about a day of opening items for it to see if they start showing up since it was a clean wipe.

If not, I suppose that you could use the tutorial below to add your own custom items into it as a workaround.
