How do you permanenly delete the subfolders in the Public Folder? I can delete the Public Pictures, Public Videos, etc., but they are recreated on bootup. I was able to do this on my other PC, but can't recall how I did it.

Hello Scnrfrq,

These are system files and are needed for sharing purpose between user accounts. You should NOT delete them. Doing so may also cause other unknown issues to arrise.

As a workaround, you could just hide the folders them if you do not wish to see them. They do not take up enough space to worry about.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Brink is absolutely correct, these are important. I think he wanted to say "YOU SHOULD NOT DELETE THEM"

How to Delete Folder in Public Folder?

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. In my Public folder, under
Documents, I continue to have a Speedbit folder appear. Whenever I delete my Documents folder, the Speedbit folder is recreated every time I reboot. I don't know why it's in the Public folder, and I would like to delete it permanently from that folder. How do I do this?

Hi,

Is Speedbit an application that loads during bootup? If so, then that is what is creating this folder. Check the application to see if there is a setting that prevents the folder from being created at each bootup.

Regards,
Golden

Look in Programs and Features. If it's there, uninstall it. If you're sharing your Documents folder, then stop sharing Speedbit application and try uninstalling again.

Speedbit is running at bootup, according to Autoruns. But it isn't showing up in Task Manager or Services. I don't really want to uninstall it, just keep it's folder from showing up in my Public Folder. I'm not sharing my Documents folder, or the Speedbit folder. But somehow it keeps being recreated in my Public folder?
