    Licence Stickers?

    Hi All,

I would like to start selling my builds and was wondering about licence stickers, do they come with the OEM versions?

    Thanks,
    Rob

Hmmm, I don't ever recall seeing any. But I do have the COA's that come with the Windows disc.

I have an OEM disk I purchased to install Windows 7. On the plastic case that the DVD was in is a sticker that says "Proof of License - Certificate of Authenticity" and has the product key to install. That is what you are referring to isn't it?

Hi Ron and welcome to the forum. When you say "I would like to start selling my builds" are you referring to building computers for customers?

Good for you. It can be an interesting endevour. Just remember that each system you build and sell must have a new/valid/unique Windows 7 CAO (such as in the screen shot you show) attached to the side of each computer case. Otherwise you will run afoul of copyright laws. Good luck with this plan. Each customer is going to want the original install Windows 7 DVD as well.
    Cheers

I know that much, was just wondering. You can close this thread now as I have found out that I need to register as a Microsoft Partner to get the official "System Builders" pack. I will do that tonight and will be waiting for the post-man :P

Also, remember that if you sell them the box OEM, you must provide their technical support for it as well...they aren't entitled to give Microsoft a call on issues.

I know that now, just spent the last 3 hours reading through the documentation

This may come in handy from some people:
To stay within microsoft rules and regulatioins you MUST purchase all OEM software from a certified dealer, where you will get a security sealed postage box, Windows 7 OPK, Windows 7 OEM, COA Sticker, Windows 7 End User Guide, Windows 7 End User Software (non-OEM). You are not allowed to give the OEM software to the end user either.

You can find a list of authrized dealers here: Microsoft Authorized OEM Distributors
