can't format the hard drive

    can't format the hard drive


    installing build 7264.
    mounted the ISO in magic disk and did custom installation.
    the only options is load driver and i see the partition but i can't format it.

    what to do?

    Are you trying to mount the iso in windows, and then trying to format that partition?

    It might be easier if you burned the iso (not the seperate files) to dvd, then install fro there.

    I think you are going to have to burn it to a DVD using some sort of ISO burning software (I suggest Active ISO). Mounting it may not work the way you want it to.

    im mounting it from another partition, i have 3 in general.
    it worked with previous build i dont see a reason it won't work with this build.

    i don't have an available blank cd right now.

    When you say 'mounting' are you extracting the files to the HD? If you mount anything then it creates a virtual environment using memory resouces and apps on your main HD. You will never be able to format a main partition if 'mounted' in this way.

    It seems the installer is seeing a reason not to allow formatting of that partition.

    Perhaps it's a system or primary partition? . . . . . just taking a guess here.
