Hello.
Please be very specific about the type of repair you are referring to as there are several types and any suggestions we make would be purely conjecture on our part.
Describe in detail the issues you are having.
It really depends on what you are trying to fix. Just last night I had to
repair a MBR after a drive migration. Original repair disk, SP1 installed.
Worked flawlessly.
For repairs if Win7 becomes unbootable, you'd continue to use your DVD Repair console or Repair CD to run System Recovery Options.
To run a Repair Install or reinstall, you'll need to slipstream SP1 into the Installer's ISO: Slipstream Windows 7 SP1 into a Installation DVD or ISO File
I'm sure that one will be able to purchase SP1 on a media only DVD fairly reasonably, but is it possible to purchase a media only DVD with SP1 already combined, so slipstreaming is not necessary?
Apparently I cannot repair the issue (different versions), only do a full OS reinstall. Oh well.
This is why I posted the tutorial for slipstreaming SP1 into your Installation DVD, so that it is the same version when you run the Repair Install.
What is the exact error message you are getting, and at exactly what step in the Repair tutorial.
