Hello Carolyn, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might check each tutorial below to see if they are set properly.

    (default: 96 DPI)
DPI Display Size Settings - Change

(default: native screen resolution for monitor)
    Screen Resolution - Display Settings

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

I resolved a similar issue recently for another member recently, who set the DPI Display Size to 500% resulting in a similar issues as yours. The solution was to start the computer in Safe mode as the display will be readable then change DPI Display Size or Screen Resolution to a lower value as necessary such as standard 1024 x768 resolution at 100% DPI then restart your Computer normally and then make futher adjustments as necessary.

Edit: Brink also posted same resolution before I was finised post but safe mode works if you cannot sdjust in normal mode.
