Hello Nalbe, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Turning on Auto Suggest in Windows Explorer may be what you are after.

Hi nalbe,

Click on Organize and mouse over Layout. In the pop-up that appears, click on Navigation pane to tick (select) it, as shown below.

Ah, I see.

You would need to turn on the navigation pane (left pane in screenshot below) to be able to navigate through the folder like that now instead.

You can also click on the "bread crumb" arrows in the address bar as below to navigate as well.

By default, that is the only option in Windows 7.

However, you might see if you may like using the free programs Explorer++ instead of Windows Explorer, or Classic Shell for this.

This is something I've wanted to do for a long time. In Windows XP, you were able to unlock the toolbars and move them around freely, including the Address Bar. Hello, I don't know the proper name for the menu, I think it may be called the rocketdock. It's the one that you can hide to the side or the top of the screen and only appears when you move the mouse to the side or top. Anyway, I've been using that menu since I installed windows 7, and today I...
