How do I remove deleted items??

I think I know when I delete things they are still on the hard. They are there and can be wrote over. Is there a way to clean those things that can be wrote over? Does Ccleaner (clean free space) do that?

    Hello LB,

Yes, CCleaner has a secure delete option that will write 0's over the data with X amount of passes that you specify. However, you have to let CCleaner say delete the files in the Recycle Bin instead for it to do so. :)

    Hope this helps,

Thank you for getting back so quickly. Wipe free space also removes Recycle Bin contents; not the one on my desktop but the one used by the OS. Is that correct.

Yep, it will wipe out anything that you have selected to be deleted in the main CCleaner window.

Thanks again. I going to wipe the free space, the last one on the bottom of the list.

Oh, I missed that option. That should allow you to secure wipe the free space on your HDD as well.

Well I wiped the free space and it did remove all of $Recycle Bin. I really didn't need to do it for and reason I know of. I just wanted to see what would happen. Thanks again for your help. I checked and found that my restore points are still there.
