They won't be on the exact same disk! Neither was Vista. The retail purchase even with the pre-order for the upgrade of Home or Pro will see two disks using one product key.

Ever see a single dvd case with two disks and a center that swiings out with the second disk on the back side? They'll have to have some form of divider in the new plastic case being displayed. Windows 7 Team Blog - The Windows Blog
Well that is pretty Environmentally unfriendly....lol
The case should be made from re-cycled Macs and they should have both builds on a dual layer disk....and sell it for $19.99 at the local corner store....

MS announced that both 32bit & 64bit versions will come with a single license purchase with W7. Now I don't know if they'll be on a single DVD (yes, they can do that BTW) or 2 but I suspect it will be a single disk for $$$ savings.

The present MS dvds have to be usable on any dvd drive while dual layer disks for two versions would require a select number of optical drives not just any some manufacturer tosses on a prebuild or a case you put together. MS still has to look at the universal standard when mass producing any software disks just like any other software vendor.

I suspect what you don't see shown in the plastic case they displayed in the blog was the divider or what was behind the white what looks like insert in the case. You would likely see the second disk on the opposite side there like you would with two disk pc games.
