I hope you kept track of what services you disabled? They are almost always set the way they are for a reason.

IMHO the pointless part is disabling them in the first place. On todays fast multi core systems your not going to notice any performance increase by disabling a couple of services. More than likely , as you have probably found out, you'll break something. In your case it would appear that it has had the complete opposite effect and negatively impacted performance. I know this sounds like a lecture but I don't know how to say it without it coming out that way. I could be wrong and end up eating crow but at the moment I'm thinking one of the services you disabled is causing your problem. If you kept track of what you did you can backtrack and undo it and see if the problem goes away. You could try system restore, if it doesn't work you can always undo it and go back to where you are now.

system restore is always the first thing i disable on windows install... really pointless
anyways think it was "application experience", after reading about an issue on Application Experience - Process and Service wiki.
that seems similar to the problem i have, so tried enabling it and havent seemed to have the problem again, although ive only been trying exe's haven't tested with zip files like they say there or any other types
