Set to Require Password on Wakeup - But it doesn't
Hi all - I have an annoying problem. I have my settings so that when my computer awakes it will ask for my password.
In System Settings, I have Require a Password selected under the option of Password Protection on Wakeup. It is also set that way in Power Options > Require Password on Wakeup > Yes. I have attached a document with a screenshot of both options selected. Unfortunately, when I close the lid and then resume, I'm never asked for a password. I'm also not asked for a password when resuming from pressing the power button. I have run AVG, Spybot, Adaware, and CCleaner in safe mode and can't figure out why the computer would be doing something other than what it is set to do. Any ideas?! Please help! |

Dunno if this will help, but do you have a password enabled with your screen saver? That's the only significant difference from your system to mine AFAIK.

My screensaver is turned off - set to none.
Thanks for the idea. Do you or anyone else have any other ideas? I just can't figure out why it would be doing something different from the settings! I'd really love to not have to reformat and start over! |

Was this issue ever resolved? I am currently having the same problem with an HP Elitebook 840 G3.

How can I stop requiring a password on wakeup I've changed the power plan to not require a password on wakeup but my system seems to be ignoring the setting. When I go back and check the settings, the "Don't require a password" circle is filled in, but when it wakes up I still have to enter a password. Any suggestions? |

Require a password on computer wakeup while auto login is enabled Hi guys I am wondering if there is any way that I can have my computer require a password after it has been woken up from sleep, or after the screen saver has been on, while I have auto login enabled. I have auto login on because I am too lazy to enter a password every time I start up my computer... |

Required password on wakeup Ok, I searched but didn't know how to word it properly, so here is my post. Basically, I want to disable the log on when you come back from a hybernation mode. In otherwords, if you walk away from your laptop for a while, and the computer went to sleep, you wake it by shakeing the mouse or hitting... |

How to turn off "Require password on wakeup"? When I put my computer to sleep and wake it up it always asks for my password. Since I'm the only user on this computer and it's set to autologon on startup it's of no use to have the password prompt when returning from sleep. But how can I turn this off? The "Require password on wakeup" in... |
