Nothing against File Hippo or any of the other quality download sites, but I always like to check the "Official" sites like this one ;

for various software, and also a few reviews if possible, before I even download it. I still usually download from sites like File Hippo though, they tend to be a lot faster, and they do fairly intensive virus testing.

Cool. Filehippo is good, been using it since more than 3 years. Nothing against downloading directly from official sites, hippo is like a collection of almost all freewares from one source that's all.

It's not just yours

I have the same problem, I'll post a new thread as well, and it doesn't seem to be the disk type because the disk that I'm using today did work before. They seemed to ocassionaly recognise as blank but got worse everytime. At first cleaning seemed to work but today 1 did work and another did not, now after cleaning - neither show the video/avi files on them = they both show as blank or no disk inserted.

Try Completing a Burn Process...

Had this same problem on a couple of Windows 7 - 64 bit laptops and searched high and low for a solution after replacing drives and going crazy over it. I stumbled across a possible solution by simply completing a burn process. I inserted a, truly blank cd-r disk and burned a file onto it. Pulled the disk out, re-inserted it. It opened fine. Then, I took the other cd-r disks that were previously showing up incorrectly as blank and they all opened up fine after that. Hope this helps.
