portable programs dont work in windows 7

While its great (build 7100 x64) but till now "most" portable programs work but some don't work in windows 7, they work fine on Vista though.

Any clue how to make them work or whats stopping them from working?

7100 x32 : I'm running a bunch of portable apps of my USB right now. All mine are packed in Portable apps - but that is really irrelevant.
No issues with those programs whatsoever. My particular apps are troubleshooting focused and all but an experimental photoshop seem to work.

All of my portable apps from portable apps installer work fine. The ones that do not work are the ones that were done with VM thinapp.

ThinApp does not yet support the Windows 7 Release Candidate.

I'm getting a missing .dll when trying to launch portable PS CS4 - comdlg32.dll which is pretty stoopid coz its sitting in system32 like it's meant to.

I'm running quite a few portable apps in Windows 7 (7260 build from the vhd), Photoshop CS4 runs fine for me. Though other apps require me to run them as administrator in order for them to work (ConvertXtoDVD is the main one, I love that program). Photoshop runs both normally, and as administrator absolutely fine, I have it pinned to the taskbar as well, and that works just as well.

    portable: Office 2010 preview

This won't work on Office 2010..even if u back compat to xpsp3 or vista, vista 1/2...

if anyone has any work around... it would be awesome... I want to try 2010, but don't want to migrate it to 2007 or remove 2007...

if it gets down n dirty, can always do a vHD, but that is so time consuming for that...

    TQ...
