I'm the Lead Program Manager for Microsoft Store.

Sammy is correct, and purchasing the download version from Microsoft Store in the EU will give you access to both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

    Hi,

I am about to purchase Windows 7 and even though I live in Sweden I do not really speak the language and the bottom line is that the laguage of IT is english.

So anyway my question is that is it possible to do that:
    - I register to the US MS Store (with a fake address of course)
    - and buy Windows 7 as a downloadable software?

So that I could avoid shipping fees, other additional package taxes and the software I purchase would be english.

Do you think it is possible to do the way I described it?

    Thank you so much!

Unfortunately we do not accept foreign billing addresses on the US MS Store.

However, you should be able to purchase at one of our online stores serving many markets in the EU.

Go to Microsoft Store Home and scroll to the bottom and find our "country selector" and choose the appropriate country. You will get taken to that store front and be able to purchase.

Thanks for your answer, but I would like to make it completely clear. So if I would ONLY purchase downloadable content (so that there is no shipping at all so the address is irrelevant so I can just pick a random US address to register) do I need to have a correct billing address?

In Scandinavian countries you can normally buy English versions of all Microsoft products in store. I bet when you go to any bigger software store in Sweden, you can find Windows 7 in English. Also online, here's for example one Swedish online store selling English Windows 7.

Kelta: It doesn't make sense to try to register with a "random US address" because that needs to be a valid billing address attached to your credit card. So as I mentioned before, you cannot do this on the US Microsoft Store, but you can purchase copies from one of our online stores in the EU (e.g. Germany, UK, Netherlands, etc).
