    Missing control panel

I have a missing control panel. Not there. Did search and no control panel.

Suddenly I have no internet via hard wire or wireless in home or office. I get a not connected message. This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.

I purchased from Dell 10/10... can I still get support from Dell?

Can I reinstall control panel only from windows 7 disk?

    Thanks

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums.

I take it that something has changed recently resulting in the loss of control panel and no internet?

Have you tried System Restore ?

I'm not sure on Dell's policy's but I'd say you would get at least 1 year warranty.

Hi Dan, thanks for the reply. I've had Macs for the last 20 years, this is my kids machine and first pc and is very foreign to me. I noticed the control panel would not open several weeks ago but everything was working. Recently loaded and ran Norton and everything was working ok after that, but not able to open the control panel. Couple of days later no internet and with out the control panel I can't do anything.

I didn't know if I had to do a whole system reinstall or if in windows you could just reinstall the control panel. System restore only goes back a day or two but I'll try it.
Any idea why a control panel would not open?

This might be a silly question but are you logged in as the Administrator or have your kids accidently changed the permissions on the PC?
