    idiotic keyboard question mark key types É

    buying a new keyboard did not solve the issue

    all of a sudden for no apparent reason, some of the keys will produce different characters, for example the question mark key produces É

    i`ll just be typing along and it happens. i don`t click any special combination of keys as far as i can tell, and i am certainly not deliberately setting the keyboard to `french`or something like that.

    it will often stay like this for ages, then for some mysterious reason it goes back to normal.

    normally a complete reboot of the computer fixes it, but that`s a real pain when im in the middle of doing something important that can`t be paused (like an online game)

    OK. First of all, download this and run it;

    Malwarebytes

    Run a full scan please............

    When the scan is complete, post the log here.

    Check your Language and Keyboard settings in Control Panel.

    Do you have any game controllers installed, such as a mini-keyboard for the left hand in a FPS game?

    You might try temporarily disconnecting all other USB devices and see if that makes a difference. :)

    Worth a try.

    Go to Control Panel
    Region and Language
    Keyboards and Languages
    Change Keyboards
    Advanced Key Settings
    Then check your hotkeys
