You should look at the message I quoted about four posts up. :)

Linkz: You should start your own thread, that way we can keep this one focused on helping the original poster. :)

my apologies, i didn't actually mean to start a thread.

Aren't there other accounts available for you to log into?

If you have a guest account only, then go to the following MS site and read:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/How-do-I-log-on-as-an-administrator
    Good luck

Seems like at this point you might consider backing up your important stuff and doing a clean install.

If you aren't an administrator on the machine, that would imply someone else is.
It appears this is the most logical condition, ask the Administrator, in that case would be the only answer.

Then the only thing to do is put the Win 7 DVD in the drive, start the setup, format the drive and start over.

I must say that for a administrators account to turn to a guest account is very unlikely.

    Good luck.

There is another thread dealing with your problem in MS-TechNet. Please consider making a backup of your registry before you make any changes to it.

PS: Before you do what’s in the link try to read what other members have to say about it.
    Good luck
