    Replacing mother board

I have Win7 Home Premium. I need to replace the motherboard.
Will I have to go thru Microsoft to re-register my OS? I initially used the Win7 32 bit upgrade version. Thanks for any advise.

Since it is a retail upgrade version of home premium then the below tut will be needed to ensure successful activation

Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

If your windows still does not activate upon re-installation the follow this tut

    Activate Windows 7 by Phone

Probably. Is the new motherboard completely different to the old one?

If you change a lot of hardware then you usually need to get another activation key from Microsoft.

    Replacing motherboard

The new motherboard is the same brand, just a newer model. I'm not changing the HD, Processor, memory, video card, or other components.
