BSoDs aren't usually viruses from what I gather. What are the details of the BlueScreen? When you boot up after one and log on, it should pop up with a little window with details. That will say a lot...

You have a quad-core processor and 1 GB of memory? Yikes!

Have you researched the STOP codes from the BSoDs?

Woah, that processor dwarfs your RAM. Oh, well. :)

Yeah, it could be other hardware. Have you tried System Restore or backing up and reinstalling, though?

And I know I say this a lot, but it could be that the hardware on your PC is fine, just the drivers aren't. Then the computer wouldn't know how to use the hardware. In other words, it wouldn't be in action.

Have you changed any hardware in your computer other then the fan? Do you have the latest drivers for your hardware. Also 1GB ram with that CPU you should consider getting more ram and putting in maybe 4GB's. (not to be rude or anything)

    Thanks
