    How to unload windows 7


    Hey, I have a self build computer - it works fine.
    I bought windows 7 to go ontop of vista.
    I have found out that the product keys have been used somewhere else and I need to
    remove windows 7 - CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO DELETE/UNINSTALL WINDOWS 7

    Unless you have another computer to put the hard drive in that has an OS (or if that rig is multiboot), you would need to use a third party program to use at boot, or if you are going to install some other OS in it's place, you should be able to delete the system with the installer. Partition Wizard is a good and free program that you can download, and burn it's ISO to a CD for use at boot.

    See if you have a windows.old folder in C to restore Vista:
    How to restore a Windows 7-based computer to a previous Windows installation by using the Windows.old folder

    Otherwise you'll have to find a Vista installer for your version to reinstall with the Product Key on the COA, unless you backed up an image of Vista.

    Boot Partition Wizard boot CD, select 1 for screen res, on Disk tab Wipe HD, or rightclick on partitions to delete.
