Might want to try something like this:

Free backup software for data backup & disaster recovery. Hard drive system backup software, disk clone and disk image freeware - EASEUS

And CLONE the 320gb install onto the 500gb disc.

Unplug the 300gb disc and boot from the 500gb disc.

Not a clean install but without the disc or a USB drive not sure how else you can do it.

Ummm, let's go back a step. You are going to install Windows 7 on a drive in your computer and then give that drive to someone else to use in their computer?

1) Technically, it *might* work, but it is a REALLY bad idea. The OS will have to replace all the hardware drivers for your machine with new ones for the other machine. This can lead to conflicts and other issues.

2) Legally, you haven't stated whether you have valid licenses for both your computer and the other person's. To be honest, what you are doing sounds a bit sketchy. We can't help you with installing illegal copies of software.

If the windows 7 is on the 320G connect both of them and do "Ghost" , so u can create a mirror of ur 320G and write it on ur 500G... Get the "Ghost" software from the net and use magic disc to run it

the 2.5 320gb is from a laptop that has a windows 7 on it and i took that hardrive then uninstall the drivers then i am currently using that 320gb to power my desktop

i purchased a 3.5 500gb and windows 7 ultimate x64 to be used/replace the 320gb on my desktop but the only drive that i have access to is on the laptop and i have no way of connecting the 3.5 500gb on it

so what i did was put back my 320gb on my laptop then save the iso image of the windows 7 ultimate x64 on it then put back 320gb on my desktop

Have you got access to a usb to sata cable adaptor or box? If so you could coonect your 500GB via usb and install it from the DVD. When you replace it in your other machine you will have to load up the appropriate drivers and re-register it with Microsoft as the system will see that you have "changed" to many system components at one time.

There's still a licensing issue here as well. You cannot use the same copy (license) of Windows 7 on both the laptop and the desktop. You have to have a separate key for each.

If your boot is on a 100mb partition then maybe start a thread in backup and restore- what I am thinking is using macrium reflect to image that partition then add a partition (same or slightly larger) to the 500 and write the backup to your new partition.

Not sure if this will work so thats why I suggested another thread-

good luck

Bill

ps when windows 7 installs it makes this partition but it is hidden- this info is directed at a computer you built yourself- a manufacturer may do things differently but dont see why any partition cant be copied- macrium will see hidden partitions...

I didnt really get the drive swap thing cuz i didnt put the time into it-- but if you are trying to actually run the same exact version on two computers then it probably wont work and w7 will know it- if this is the case then just buy another key/ fresh install and be done with it.....
