Malware can cause all sorts of problems including hijacking links.
Strange behaviour is often the result of malware.
Try superantispyware instead;

get the FREE version and run it.

I don't know what version you are using but malwarebytes.org either downloads a crippled program or wants to sell you something. I found a part that downloads a free program but before you can use it you have to sign up for another free trial of someone else like netflix or other. I wont give out my credit card number to someone I don't know. And I do 't know malwarebytes. Fortunately that is not the only way to get rid of malware. But I consider malwarebytes a scam with what you actually get. Its either free or it is not. I don't even know I have malware. Maybe it is just windows. That 1000 errors it supposedly found is suspicious when norton and another program found for less. I was not redirected because I went directly to the site. I trust nothing on the internet unless I check it out. So far this has not checked out. No disrespect to anyone who has tried to help but consider my position. I don't know personally anyone. Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop
|MG| Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.50.1.1100 Download
* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.

* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.

Malwarebytes is completely free software, and I and many others use it all the time. The free version is completely free, and it does not ask you to purchase anything.

While your scepticism is not at all a bad thing in general, in this case something is going badly wrong on your machine. I assume malware is causing it.
Nobody here will send you to any scam sites or anything like that.

The only instance I have heard of acting like this is a trojan downloader that throws up a warning alert panel that says you have been infected by lots of trojans and malware. It says that you should buy "Safety Center" which appears to be genuine but is really just malware. The symptoms you have described sounds very similar. You should follow the advice given here. After all, what good would be gained by Jacee and other forum members giving out bad advice and tring to rip you off?? Ask yourself...Why are these people all advising the use of the FREE Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and is it more likely that you have a trojan infection? Answer is that you have a trojan and you need to get rid of it!!
Thanks everyone for your help. malwareblytes.org is not |MG| Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.50.1.1100 Download. Looking for malwarebytes on google gets the outfit that wants to sell you a program. I have norton supplied by comast which seems very good. It automatically looks for problems every time the computer is idle for a while. Because I could not get |MG| Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.50.1.1100 Download I tried the other suggestion and got quite a few tracking cookies but nothing serious. Most of those seemed from google. I am willing to uninstall the second suggestion and download |MG| Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.50.1.1100 Download if someone seriously thinks that |MG| Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.50.1.1100 Download can find what norton and the other program has not found. So far I inclined to think it is something in windows 7 or google chrome. To go to //majorgeeks.com/download5756.html I had to use internet explorer 8 and the first thing I heard was a MSN commercial. Well, google has it's own commercials but so far has not inflicted mp3 or mp2 on those of us who use gmail. But if anyone thinks that |MG| Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.50.1.1100 Download can find something interfering with the cursor that the other two programs could not I will give it a try.

Malwarebytes, unlike Norton, specializes in the removal of malware, spyware and adware. It is almost a certainty that it will locate everything Norton doesn't. Norton, unfortunately, is not a reliable security software. I would suggest Kaspersky or Avast over it.
From everything you describe it points to an obvious Trojan or malware infection, and it would appear to be numerous in number. Go ahead and install Malwarebytes and do a scan, fix the problems. If nothing is found, or it fails to remove a problem obtain HiJackThis! (free, also on the MajorGeeks website), do a scan and save the log and post back with it. It allows an in-depth view to hidden services, registry keys and applications, and an easy way to eliminate them.
As you do appear to have a link hijacker, if you have access to another PC or laptop, download said applications with it, and transfer to the system that has the problem then install and scan.

FYI, nobody at any point told you to do a Google search for malwarebytes. They told you to go to malwarebytes.org and download the program from there.
Also, when someone tells you to install a particular program BY NAME and you choose to install something completely different....where does the problem lie?
