how to change default icon size in folders?

All my folders appears to be in list detail views, is it possible to change views of all the folders altogether?

    Hello Ross,

Why yes, this can help walk you through setting a default folder view to all folders. :)

Folder View - Set a Default for All Folders

    Hope this helps,

    Ross,

I can understand your hesitation about using an unknown REG file, but I can assure you that every one of them that I post is clean and safe to use for what's in the tutorial. I create them to use to make doing something in the tutorial a lot easier to do when it would otherwise may be pretty hard to do.

    hi Brink

I don't doubt your files, I am sure they are safe to use however, I am curious if there is any other way of change the setting, if I run out of other options I will download the registry file.

If you want the same view for every folder, and then you want your icon size choices to be saved across Explorer you need to disable Automatic Folder Type Discovery. And as far as I believe the only way of doing this is via the registry?

Well, if you wanted to do it manually in the registry, then you could just edit the REG file (right click -> Edit) to see what changes it makes, and then just do them manually instead. :)

Be sure to create a restore point first to help be safe. A mistake in the registry can leave Windows 7 really messed up.
