This is a little warm for idle, but not unusual for that CPU, and often occurs on laptops. Of more concern are your temperatures under load.

You can reduce heat generation quite considerably by reducing voltage, but it's not something you should try if you don't know much about it.

Make sure your heatsink is clean ( not choked ), seated correctly, your fan is running properly, and you have good airflow through your casing.

I have a vague recollection that the thermal limit for that CPU is about 100°C. But I might be mistaken, I have not had much to do with AMD CPU's lately.

Unfortunately I'm not able to check that exactly right now, ( although there is doubtless information on the web about it).

Anyway, a cooling pad for your laptop might be a good idea, and making sure everything is clean.

What is your ambient temperature range? ( How warm is it where you use the machine, and how warm does it get in summer for instance? ).

I would be worried if it went much over 75°C 80°C at the outside. The problem here is that the closer you get to the thermal limit, the less room you have for anything untoward occurring, and although it may not kill a CPU outright, running at high temperatures reduces life expectancy considerably.

Anyway, I think you would be better off with somebody who actually knows that laptop. They all have their idiosyncrasies.

Perhaps somebody who knows it will step in here...........

Hi IT PRO, when using the laptop ,try to raise it a little at the back to allow greater airflow ,you could also install a free fan control program such as speedfan SpeedFan - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com or I8kfangui Dell Inspiron Inspiron/Latitude/Precision fan control these will help to control the temp by making the fans run faster and longer but will not sole the initial problem, Keeping the laptop air vents clean and un obstructed goes a long way in keeing temps down
