    ADMINISTRATOR PROBLEMS

When buying my new computer I activated myself as administrator. My husband was a guest. I noticed that when I logged on that the screen would go black for a second after putting in my password but then would kick start. This gradually got worse & it took longer for it to fire up, then all of a sudden it wouldnt accept my password or me as administrator. My husband can still get on as a guest & we have been using this to gain access which is fine until there are updates!! When it asks for the administrator password it denies me access, we cant add any programs or update........ please help!!

    Create a password reset disk

You can give this a shot, I'm not sure if you'll be able to do it from a guest account though.

You could try a System Restore (if you enabled it) and go back a few days or a week and see if that helps. If so then enabled the built-in Administrator account so in the future if something like this happens, you can boot to Safe Mode (F8 at boot), login as Administrator then you can remove or reset passwords as needed.

    Open a Elevated Command Prompt
To enable: Enter net user administrator /active:yes
To disable: Enter net user administrator /active:no
