If you play WMP and or VLC without Firefox running do they work as they should? I'm not really sure how well Intel HD graphics are. This is a Notepad, correct. What I'm trying to get to is you might be asking it to do more than it was designed to do. Thanks for coming here to ask your questions. Hang in their. Their will be more replies.

The computer hangs when running other programs too like photoshops, illustrator to name a few....and sometimes it takes long time to log in to windows after a shutdown.....is there any relation between the above problem and this login in issues ??

    Thanks

Have you used any Registry Cleaners (Advanced System Care, Registry Mechanic, ect.) before? Maybe Malware could be hogging up system resources, causing your system to hang.
If you used a "Registry Cleaner" program, roll-back the changes if possible (I know Advanced System Care can roll-back changes). And If you didn't use a "Registry Cleaner" program, download, install, and run a scan with "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware" and see if something comes up.
