Taskbar Jump List disappears before I can c

When I right-click on task bar items, the Jump List appears and stays open. But as soon as I move my cursor above the task bar it immediately fades away, and disappears.
The same happens with the notification area icons. When I click the /\ symbol, the menu pops up, but I cant move the cursor up there fast enough to catch it before it fades and disappears.
I think installing some app may have tweaked a setting to cause this, but I can't figure out what.
Would there be a registry setting to fix this? Or perhaps some other solution?
    Thanks for the help,
    Ken C.

Ha! Already answered my question.... Here's the solution from a friend on experts exchange...

    • Control Panel
    • Ease Of Access Center
    • Make the Mouse Easier to Use
    • Make it Easier to Manage Windows
    • Unselect "Activate a Window by Hovering Over it".

Somehow the "Activate a Window by Hovering Over it" option had been checked. I guess when the cursor floats up to the jump list, it briefly hovers over a few pixels of the desktop or open app, and activates that, closing the jump list.

    creasman00,

You rock! This was bugging me to no end for weeks! I couldn't find an answer the few times I quickly searched because of the obsucre nature of the issue, but finally remembered they're called "jumplists" and found your thread. Thanks for this!
