    I *was* having a driver issue, though. Yesterday, when my laptop woke from sleep and my screen turned back on, the desktop area behind the glass area of the browser I was using turned black. Quite odd, but a refresh of the desktop solved the problem. I'm guessing this is an issue with the prerelease 8400M GS driver I'm using.

    hum, guys, hell of a problem here. I was using nvidia drivers from windows update. Now i went to nvidia site, and downloaded the windows vista drivers for notebook (they didn't have for win7), anyway the drives are beta. I installed them, reboot, and then i refresh my WEI . Guess what?

    Desktop performance for windows aero:

    windows update driver --> 3,4
    Nvidia driver -->3,2

    Gaming graphics:

    Windows update driver -->3,8
    Nvidia driver --> 2,0

    The new driver was supposed to increase performance, not decrease it. lol

    Frustrated about the refresh thing?
    If it's really a video/driver problem, you might consider sending some feedback. It will probably get fixed (it's still beta anyway).

    Found a fix

    Hi All.

    Having the sames issues here to; so just changed the registry key from On = dont auto refresh to Off = Auto refresh.. and its all sorted now..

    this is th reg parth;

    Searched for occurrences of the word refresh and found this key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{BDEADE7F-C265-11D0-BCED-00A0C90AB50F}\Instance

    do this;

    1) I backed up the registry.
    2) Searched for occurrences of the word refresh and found this key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{BDEADE7F-C265-11D0-BCED-00A0C90AB50F}\Instance
    which contains three subkeys. One of them, curiously enough, is DontRefresh and it has a value of 1 (turned ON)
    3) I then changed the value to 0 (turned OFF) and hit F5 to refresh and save the now changed registry.

    regards
