    Win 7 not booting normally

    Hi all,

i had a win 7 installed on HP DC7800. It was working fine

    1. I moved the HDD of 7800 to HP 7900
    2. The machine didnt boot at first but after 3 attempts it booted & was working fine
    3. After a week i again removed the same HDD from 7900 and put it into 7800
    4. When i attempted to boot normally the windows logo appears & then a blank screen comes
    5. I am able to boot in safe mode
    6. Tried - Enable VGA Mode, Disable all Startup Items, Load Basic Drivers (Msconfig) but still same problem
    7. I am only able to to work in safe mode and not normal mode
    8. When i put the same HDD in 7900 it works fine but on 7800 it doenst
    9. Looks like the OS Remembers the hardware!!

I also tried win 7 repair option, system restore but nothing works.

Someone kindly assist how to troubleshoot this

    Regards,
    classfriend

Step Zero. Windows does not take kindly to being moved to different hardware while installed.

Step Zero.One. It sounds like you may have some graphics drivers giving you problems. I am assuming the video chip is integrated into the motherboard and the board in the 7800 is different than the 7900.

Step One. Try downloading the latest graphics drivers from HP (unless you know what brand of onboard graphics you have as well as what motherboard chipset you have, in which case you may find them at your chipset manufacturer's Web site) and installing them. If you can get the Windows Logo (pre-graphics drivers) or into Safe Mode (Windows crude VGA driver) that's where I'd head first.
