In my laptop I have 2 hard drives, the first with a Vista (the default in the system) and the other with Seven ..
In the HD with Vista i have also a recovery partition

Could not open the volume root directory
The parameter is incorrect.
No bootcode Was succesfully updated ..
I do not want to get to format the entire

In the future keep your OS's on separate HD's booted via the BIOS to avoid these problems.

First start up Win7. Set the Win7 HD second to boot in BIOS setup, afterr DVD drive. Boot the Win7 DVD Repair console or Repair CD Command Line, make sure Win7 is marked Active using Diskpart: Partition - Mark as Active . This can also be done using frree Partition Wizard bootable CD to have a graphical picture of what you're doing, and post back a camera snap so we can see it. System Repair Disc - Create

Now boot back into DVD or Repair CD to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots to repair or write the System boot files to Win7.

Once Win7 starts up, you can either:

repeat this process using the Vista DVD or Repair CD to mark Active and repair Vista with it's HD set as first HD to boot in BIOS, then after it starts set preferred HD as first to boot in BIOS and use the one-time BIOS boot menu key to boot the other OS HD.

or add Vista using EasyBCD 2.02 on Add Boot Entry tab: EasyBCD 2.0.2 - NeoSmart Technologies

If these repairs are not successful you may need to disable the other HD in BIOS setup, or physically unplug them (not as easy for a laptop) to run the repairs to get each HD booting independently, or get Win7 booting independently then add Vista to Dual Boot using EasyBCD.

You may also have to delete the partition containing GRUB which may be corrupting the boot. You can bring it's partition into focus using Diskpart (Mark Active tutorial above) then run the Command: delete partition override

If Vista will not start, you can try to run the Recovery Partition to restore it to factory settings.
