F10 is gone before usb keyboard is on?

I have a linux boot on a USB drive.

I need to get into setup using f10 or esc to change the boot sequence.

By the time my keyboard is operable Win 7 is running.

    Solution?

Use a different Keyboard or enable Legacy USB in the BIOS if you have such a setting.

your bios may be slightly different - look for something like this, or what logicearth posted above.

    oops

just realised that you can't get into the bios to make any changes

again, as logicearth suggests, you'll need to temporarily borrow another keyboard to get there.

if you're lucky, old ps2 keyboards can often be found in second-hand shops, recycling centres etc - you won't have a problem with a ps2 keyboard (so long as your mobo has inputs for them - most do)

My thoughts. Always keep a PS2 keyboard around. Some times on wireless keyboards the drivers don't load on time to get into (f) anything, or the (f) lock is off. A good little read.
