    Activating 7

Tried to activate using one of the universal keys and got this error:

0xC004B100 error the activation server has determined this computer cannot be activated

So how do I try a different key?

    Any Suggestions

Just do it again. I got the same error but then I tried again after and it worked. The problem is just that it is timing out from the servers and you need to get through. So just keep trying.

EDIT: Oh and BTW Welcome to Seven Forums!!

It does not say when it expires just that it is activated.

Are people still having issues? I'd hate to have to "phone" up Microsoft to activate a product. Spesh since i'm in the UK.

I imagine there's just so many people activating that.. well the servers can't handle it.

Oh btw - does it matter that although i have a Windows 7 Key i haven't installed 7 and used it yet? The thing won't decline me tomorrow will it?

    Product Keys

There are 5 keys and they are not unique. At least for 2 Windows ID's at my house. I found that if I refreshed at the product key screen I could get 5 keys. I went to another pc and logged on with a different ID and tried again and got the same 5 keys.... Unless they look at your IP of course... I did not reboot my DSL router to try that...:)

    Hi duluthgeek,

You are right - there are in fact 10 , 5 for 32 bit and 5 for 64 bit.

You can also use the 32 bit key to activate 64 bit installation and vice versa.

    Hope it helps
