You could try system restore to a point before the problem started.
I disabled system restore for security reasons, because I read a guide that stated its more secure to leave it off.

Utorrents and P2P are both widely known in many cases to be a method of choice for the bad guys to infect computers all over the world. Some torrents are good things but many are used to get stuff free that arn't free and the bad guys use this soft spot to slip in many virus, Trojans, key-loggers, and many more. On this site and many other very good sites that help people clean their computer of such things and do some reading. It will give you a better understanding. This is my thoughts on torrents. Some have a different opinion.

Hmm, okay, but do you have an idea what is causing the error? It is also happening on google chrome and I also cant personalize or change the resolution on my desktop anymore. When I try to personalize or change resolution I get a different error: "No such interface supported".
As for my stand on torrenting, its 100% legal in The Netherlands and I completely agree with my country's policy.

I have no problem with you and your country making those choices. The question I was trying to approach is the security of using a torrent not whether it is legal or not.

Same Problem in Latest Chrome in Win 7 x64

I'm having the exact same problem with Google Chrome, Comodo Browser, RockMelt (all chrome based browsers) and I do not use torrents etc. There must be a common denominator and I have seem this problem being discussed all over the web since 2009, so its nothing new - just yet to find a fix.. Luckily I have more than 1 notebook all running Win 7 x64 and 1 Vista Home Premium S0 x86 and it's only happening on my Dec 2009 ACER Extensa 5635Z.

If anyone has a solution yet, please let the 1000's of the same problems being posted on the web, be resolved once & for all. Google are you Home?

    Thanks in advance guys.

Have you uninstalled Chrome and reinstalled ? Mine works just fine.

What happens when you just GO to the containing folder ? Is there still a problem ?
