Windows will not let me delete some empty folders...

Citing that I do not have the correct privileges to do so, Windows [7] is telling me that it/I cannot delete some file folders that I do not have a need for.

I have tried running Windows Explorer as Administrator, but this does not help. How do I elevate myself to have the proprer priveleges to delete these? I'm not averse to using the command prompt, if that is the only means, but I'd rather know how to have control over my own system and do it through Windows.

    Thanks for any help!

Try taking ownership of the folders.

    Take Ownership Shortcut

If that doesnt help too, try Unlocker.

    Download Unlocker 1.9.1 - FileHippo.com

What are the file/folders? Are they system important, or just some random file/folder/s?

Be nice to know what they were, instead of giving advice and then you hosing your system because they were needed by the system.

There were 2 files that I wanted to get rid of.

1 was a Camtasia Studio folder which was empty. The take ownership ran on it, but it would still not delete. The system said that the folder was not there, even though I could still see it. I simply *moved* it to my 2 Terabyte Drive and that seems to have gotten rid of it.

The other was a 'Recipes' folder which was also empty. After I took ownership of it, I was able to delete it.

Thanks, Bill2, for the excellent help!
