    Windows 7 password

I reformatted my computer six days ago and made an error in judgment. I live by myself in a house with good locks in a neighborhood that is crime-free. Stupidly I put in a password for opening Windows 7 (Home Premium). If somebody is going to break in here, I'll lose a lot more than encrypted business files, unencrypted other files, software, and the computer. Is there a way, other than reformatting, which is out of the question, that I can change that to no password. I won't forget it and its hidden in a book in the basement should I forget it, but it's really an unnecessary step.

    Thanks,

    Gerry

I'm a little confused. If you have your current password, and want to change it to no password...
Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then click Change a password.
Is this what you are asking?

So do you want a password or not?

Under user accounts in control panel, select remove password.

He did clearly say he set a password and wants to remove it. Don't see the confusion there. Derekimo gave the right removal instructions.

Thank you all. As it happens I used Lemur's advice and rebooted. Zing-no password. I will, however, investigate the other choice as well. Does anybody know how to get my desktop to vacuum the carpet for me? I hate vacuuming.

Sure do, but you will need to buy one of these: Newegg.com - iRobot 51102 Roomba Vacuum-Cleaning Robot

    Password deletion

    Thanks again.

If you scroll up one, you'll see that I already did that, but thanks again to everybody, I am very happy.

    Gracias,
