    Windows 7 will not startup

This just started happening. When my computer is first starting up, it says "windows is loading files" and has a big progress bar. (Similar to when you boot from a windows CD) but there is no cd. It then goes into startup repair, which fails to fix the problem.

    Error details:

    Problem Event Name: StartuprepairOffline
    Problem Signature 01: 6.1.7600.16385
    Problem Signature 02: 6.1.7600.16385
    Problem Signature 03: Unknown
    Problem Signature 04: 21200998
    Problem Signature 05: Autofailover
    Problem Signature 06: 26
    Problem Signature 07: NoRootCause

    OS Version 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
    Locale ID: 1033

System restore also didnt work. It also said that it may have been caused by a software or hardware issue (what else could it be, stupid windows!)

Let me know if you could assist me with my throbbing headache.

Sounds like you are in a full repair situation.
    Repair Install

A severe hardware fault must have caused some system files to become corrupt.
If that is the situation this is the only fix I know of.

In that tutorial, they seem to be able to have access to windows, to boot off the disc and whatnot, I can't even get in.

Welcome to Sevenforums. Before doing a clean reinstall, post your problem in Crashes and Debugging for help. You may well need to reinstall, but maybe some of those people will have an alternative.:)

booting off your windows disc is possible without any access to windows, it's possible without even having a hard drive installed.

If you don't have a Win7 DVD, it's best to download and burn a Repair CD so the repairs don't depend on possibly corrupt System files. System Repair Disc - Create

From the System Recovery Options run Startup Repair repeatedly. If WIn7 won't repair, make sure the 100mb System Reserved partition (if you have it) is marked Active using free Partition Wizard bootable CD, highlight the Win7 disk then from the Disk tab chose Rebuild MBR, Apply.

If this fails then boot the WIn7 repair CD to try the Repairs again three times with reboots or until Win7 starts..

Next boot back into PW CD to change the Active partition (using rightclick>Modify) to the Win7 partition itself, try Rebuild MBR, if it fails then run the 3 repairs again from Repair CD.

If no installation shows to repair you may need to choose the CD Command Line to run bootrec /fixboot and bootrec /fixmbr to jumpstart it to appear.

You can copy out your files using the Repair CD this way: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console or using Paragon Rescue CD freeware.

then run full Factory REcovery from boot or Recovery Disks, or use your Win7 DVD or find one for your version for Reinstalling Windows 7.
