    windows7 carbon


    ok maybe a stupid question, but I just saw this lady's Dell laptop and it said windows7 carbon, what is that??? is it some kind of unlicensed OS??? didn't look like just a background or a theme

    Was that on the Welcome screen? Mine is Windows 7 Ultimatum. After I'd edited some images in the basebrd.dll file!

    No unlicensed OS but maybe it's becuase she uses Carbonite backup?? Don't know, just a wild guess.

    thx DaGoon, that's exactly what I saw. is that legit? I mean do you activate it with a regular 7 key?? I'll keep my win7, but it looks cool though

    Could be legit


    You could use it legitamately if your current serial is for the same version of windows (before it was modified) but unfortunately it isnt "sold" as such.

    I used my XP Home licence with my own customised "Windows XP Epic edition" which i put onto a DVD using Nlite.

    It appears to be just a theme running on Windows...not an actual "version" of the OS. It boggles my mind that people would consider these renamed, unlicensed (usually malware infested) versions of OSes floating around torrent sites.

    As for themese, not my cup of tea, but they should be harmless. What you likely saw was just a custom theme. If it was a hacked OS to include the theme, avoid at all costs.
