K so I tried uninstalling the driver for the DVD drive and rebooting, and it takes forever to load what's in it, often freezes explorer...
I should think it has something to do with my DVD drive causing this since it can't read anything that's put into it... It just thinks....
Any options?
The DVD you wanna install from is bootable, so it will boot the install disc before booting the installed OS and loading drivers etc. Perhaps you would better try updating your drive's firmware. When your DVD drive does not boot from the disc and you have already set the right BIOS Boot Up options, it could be that your DVD drive is broken.
I/O error 0xc00000e9 is "An unexpected I/O error has occurred."
That means that something can't read/write to your disks.
This error is most often caused by issues with storage devices - so USB devices are at the top of the list (to include the built in card readers on a lot of systems). I'd suggest disabling the card readers in the system BIOS and trying again.
If that doesn't work, then I'd recommend a hard drive diagnostic to see if this is an issue with your hard drive. More info on that here: Bootable Hard Drive Diagnostics - Vox
Boot order is set up like this:
ATAPI CD-ROM DRIVE
ST9808211A- (PM) (HDD)
Floppy
Network Adapter
No option for USB in the BIOS
It's not a bad copy of Win7. I used the same disc that I'm trying to use on my small laptop and it worked perfectly. My small laptop has been my test subject for all my OS installs since it's worth less, well seems like it's worth more now since it's the only one that works when I ask it to!

Gets about 1 tick on the bar and stays there until it gets to this screen:

When I started the comp with the 7100 disc in but didn't boot from it, went into my computer and could browse the CD. Open the drive and it's still showing that the disc is in the drive, but if I try to open it, it asks to enter a CD or DVD to continue.
I put in a movie DVD, and it still shows the 7100 disc in there. I click on it, and it shows the Audio and Video folders and lets me browse them. Still showing the 7100 disc is in the drive.
I put in my Vista Business DVD, and it says still, the 7100 disc is in the drive.
Now I restarted my big laptop with the Vista DVD in, and booted from the DVD. Without seeing the windows is loading files screen, I get this screen again:

Is my DVD-ROM drive bad or what? If that's the case, I'll order up a new one tonight. I need this computer working before the end of summer. For school!
Again, both DVD's work and have been used on this computer I'm on Sevenforums with right now. Vista business was on this computer... Then Win7 6801. Now Win7 7100 RC... All starting with XP Home of course.
Help me please guys!
