Silly question - what version do I have?

For support on a piece of hardware I need to tell the manufacturer the W7 version and service pack I'm running. How do I find that information? Help oddly enough doesn't tell me.

Follow these steps to find out which version of Windows you have:
  1. In the Start menu, right-click on "Computer".
  2. Click Properties to open the System Properties window.

Hi SkylineUK,

the easiest way is in System Info:

Click Start
Right Click Computer
Click Properties.

The information you are looking for will be at the top of the window that appears.

Silly icon question
Okay, so here's the silly question regarding icons. I've begun to notice that occasionally the icons for some .exe files changes from the application's icon to a generic looking .exe document thing. How do I revert the change to the default application icon? Thanks, Rhit

Maybe a silly question...
Good morning internet friends, I know this may be a silly question, but I'm going to ask anyway. I have Magicjack, and it leaves me messages in the form of .wav files in emails. These are then downloaded. They go directly to Windows7 download folder. Because this same folder gets all .tmp files,...

A Silly Question.
Well, my question is if in Windows 7, DirectX and video codecs have to be installed by the user just as in Windows XP, because as far as I can see, some movies can be seen, and I haven't tried games yet. Thanks :)
